Therapy gives us a chance to encounter one another in places of depth. Whether grief or anger is where we meet, what I find meaningful and uniquely challenging about therapy is that these encounters move us. Whatever you bring to sessions, we listen out
for what arises and see where it is allowed to take us—and where it takes you! Gradually, and at your own pace, you may discover what feels right, and which movements you can trust yourself to follow.
As a psychodynamic therapist, I believe so much of who we are is woven into us. The task of therapy is not to untangle or fully understand all patterns. However, you may find yourself getting a sense which threads are unbearably close, which sound unlike yourself, or which are missing. Perhaps you pick up an old thread that you have always known was there, but somehow forgotten. My clients often describe that therapy has allowed them to hold the pieces of themselves as they are, rather than needing to put
them back together.
I work with a broad range of issues, though much of my expertise is in grief, abusive relationships, depression, and difficulties with intimacy.
