Sammy Robertson

My name is Sammy Robertson and I have spent the past five years working in schools as a full-time school counselor.  Currently, I am working part-time as a school counselor while also transitioning into the private practice space.  As a counselor, I strive to be an advocate for children and their families while ensuring they feel welcomed, included, supported, and heard.  In particular, I believe that issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are a top priority for all of the children and families I work with.  It is my personal goal to ensure equitable mental health and wellness care to all students, especially those historically underserved, such as students of color and LGBTQ+ students.  As a queer person, this is deeply personal for me.  Through my extensive experience working in schools as a third-grade classroom teacher and now as a school counselor, I have gained a deep understanding of the different systems and people one must understand, navigate, and collaborate with in order to ensure an equitable, successful, and just learning environment for each child.
