MB JOHNSON

  I view therapy as a guide, moving us toward more healing, wholeness, and understanding in life. Since this can be a vulnerable process, as your therapist I’ll work to create a safe and encouraging environment to support your growth and journey forward. 
  I work from a collaborative, strengths-based, gender-affirming, and trauma informed lens. With over 20 years professional experience working with children, teens, young adults and families, I specialize in supporting those populations as they move through life’s innumerable ups and downs. I have extensive experience  working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, especially transgender and gender-expansive individuals. My background also includes working with people experiencing mood disorders, interpersonal and school issues, self-harm, trauma, and life transitions. Perinatal support for birthing people and their families is another passion.
  My training includes certification in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-P), and the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), which is rooted in Polyvagal theory. I incorporate additional approaches in my practice including mindfulness, play therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
